1. Are Scholarships available?
Scholarships are available on a case by case basis. If you would like to attend camp please contact the registrar and we'd be happy to work with you to find a way to get you to camp this summer.

2. Where is the camp located?
Sequoia Brigade Camp does not own one facility out of which all our camps are run. We determine the loction of each camp depending on the nature and purpose of the each of the camps we opperate.

Our residential camps, such as our Boys Adventure Camps, Girls Adventure Camp, and Father Son/Daughter Camps, we work with Christian Camping Facilities both in Northern and Southern California.

Because of the nature of our trip camps their location can be in extreemly diverse and adventurous locations such as under the Monterey Bay at our Scuba Camp, on the white waters of the Trinity river omn our white water canoeing trip, or flying 2000 feet above the Sierra Foothills at our aviation camp. The location for these trips is totaly dependant on the adventure location we've chosen for that camp.

3. Can we rent your facility?
We do note own or operate our own facilities. If you are interested in renting a camp facility we recommend that you go to the Christian Camping and Conference Association website.

4. Do I have to have experience for your camps or trips?
Most of our camps do NOT REQUIRE EXPERIENCE. one of the purposes of our camps is to help you try new things and learn new outdoor skills. For the few camps that we offer that do require some experience we always provide a corresponding camp that provides the basics of that skill so that you can go on in future years to try the more advanced skills.

5. What about Safety?
For more than 42 years Sequoia Brigade Camp has been blesed by God with a very good record in terms of safety. We have yet to experience any major injury. This is a blessing that we do not take for granted.

Each trip camp is run by a trip master trained in the sepcifics of that skill. We have also attempted through the years to make sure that our counselor to camper ratio is small enough to provide constant attention to the activities of the campers.

6. Can I bring more than one son or daughter to Father-Son or Father-Daughter camp, respectively? What if one is going into 1st grade, and the other is going into 6th grade - how would this work?
Yes -- many fathers bring more than one son to Father-Son camp, likewise with bringing more than one daughter to Father-Daughter camp. These two camps and their activities are specifically designed to encourage this and to make bringing more than one son or daughter to camp at a time, a great experience, even if there's a big difference in their ages.

7. I would like to work for SBC. What experience do you prefer potential counselors to have? How much do you pay your counselors? Who do I contact about being a counselor?
We require our counselors to behave in a manner becoming an individual who has a personal and growing relationship with Jesus Christ. We prefer our counselors to have had some experience with Christian Service Brigade, but that is not a prerequisite for being a counselor. Prior experience counseling or leading at other camps is not required, as training is provided. Junior Counselors are 15 -18 years old and serve 2 1/2 to 3 1/2 weeks out of the summer which includes a half week of required training. Senior Counselors are 18 years old and over and serve one week at camp.

Sequoia Brigade Camp is a small nonprofit Christian camp, so we do not pay our counselors with anything other than room and board - but the heavenly rewards are eternal! Senior Counsleors come at no charge, while Junior Counselors are asked to raise a portion of their support needs.

Please visit our Contact Page and use our web e-mail form to write the Camp Director about volunteering.

8. Do you have any full time positions available at your camp?
We do not have any full time positions available at this time. If you are looking for a place to be involved in ministry full time, check out Christian Camp and Conference Association.

9. Can I come stay at your camp for the weekend?
Because SBC is a relatively small Christian camp, we do not own the camp facilities we use during the course of the year and at our camps. Unfortunately, we are not able to let other groups come and stay on the campgrounds while we are holding our camps.

10. Should I be concerned about home sickness?
Home sickness is a very normal and common experience for campers especially those who are attending camp for the first time. In fact, working to overcome home sickness is one of the great benefits that camp provides. Except in exremely rare cases there should be no need to send a camper home early.
